Six things a plant asks for

None of them are complicated.

  • Light

The brightest spot you have is the whole equipment list.

  • Water

One can, once the top inch dries. That is the routine.

  • Air

A cracked window or a small fan. Moving air makes stems strong.

  • Touch

Ten minutes a week of looking closely. That part is the point.

  • Root

White tips through the plug before anything leaves the bench.

  • Time

Weeks you can mark by how the plant changed. Yours, not bought.

Ten questions · About ninety seconds

No lingo required — we translate. Answer a few questions about how you want to feel, how much work you want to do, and where the plant will live. We handle the rest.

Blue Dream plant potted in a decorative ceramic pot

Forgiving · 9–10 weeks

Every gathering has one person who gets along with everybody — the aunts, the teenagers, the neighbor nobody invited. Blue Dream is that person, and California made it famous for exactly that reason. Born somewhere in the Santa Cruz fog out of Blueberry and Haze, it spent two decades as the best-selling strain in the state, which is a little like being the most popular song in a state that only writes hit songs. As a plant, it is embarrassingly agreeable. It grows fast, forgives your learning curve, stretches toward whatever light you give it, and produces like it is trying to impress your parents. The smell is blueberry over sweet haze; the character is bright, easy company — awake, chatty, nothing heavy-handed. Wants: room to stretch and a decent amount of sun. Forgives: nearly everything, including you.

OG Kush plant potted in a decorative ceramic pot

OG Kush

$22.00

A fair middle-ground grow · 8–9 weeks

Some plants have a résumé. OG Kush has a discography. It arrived in Los Angeles in the nineties, promptly rearranged the entire West Coast family tree, and has been name-checked in more songs than most record labels. Half the strains on this page are its grandchildren and the other half are pretending not to be. It smells like the inside of a cedar chest parked at a gas station — pine, earth, fuel, lemon — and it does not apologize for any of it. The character is the classic evening exhale: shoulders down, edges off, opinions optional. As a plant it wants a bit of attention — it prefers steady indoor conditions and rewards people who actually read the card we send. Wants: consistency and a grower with mild standards. Forgives: less than Blue Dream, more than your last houseplant.

Sour Diesel plant potted in a decorative ceramic pot

Rewards experience · 10–11 weeks

Sour Diesel is loud in every sense the word has. The smell walks into the room before the plant does — fuel, citrus, something faintly illegal-feeling even where it is perfectly legal — and the effect is the same energy translated: bright, chatty, ideas arriving three at a time and none of them waiting their turn. Fair warning, told with love: this is a project plant. It grows tall like it is trying to see over the fence, takes its sweet time finishing, and will absolutely inform your neighbors of its existence. In exchange it hands experienced growers one of the great harvests in the catalog. If this is your first plant, take a teen and a deep breath, or start with something in the Forgiving column. Wants: real sun, real height, real patience. Forgives: honestly, not much — that's the deal.

Granddaddy Purple plant potted in a decorative ceramic pot

Forgiving · 8 weeks

Granddaddy Purple was introduced in the Bay Area in 2003 and immediately became the strain your most relaxed friend will not stop recommending. At maturity it turns colors that look photoshopped — deep violets under orange hairs — and it smells like grape candy that studied jazz. The character is gravity, administered kindly. This is an after-dark plant: limbs get warm, the couch improves, the phone loses its urgency, and eventually the pillow wins the argument. As a grow it is a gift to beginners — compact, sturdy, quick to finish, happy in a tent or a big pot by a bright window. One honest note: the famous purple arrives at flower, with cool nights. Your teen will be green and ordinary-looking. So were all of us at that age. Wants: a calm corner and cool evenings late in the season. Forgives: new growers, missed Tuesdays.

Plug to nug · The whole arc

What happens after you check out

It starts as a rooted plug and ends in your jar. Live plants are perishable, so the timeline is fixed and we hold to it.

  1. Day 0

    You pick a stage

Choose babies or teens, then choose your strain. Orders placed after noon Wednesday roll into the next shipping window.

  2. Day 1

    We cut and pack

Plants are watered, sleeved, and braced in a vented box so the stem never carries the weight of the root ball.

  3. Day 3

    It lands at your door

Open the box the day it arrives. Plants sitting in a sealed carton overnight is the single most common cause of loss.

  4. Day 3–10

    You tend it

Under ten minutes a week: one sachet, one watering can, one look at the card. The plant cleans your air and marks your weeks while it does the rest.

Since 2019 · One greenhouse

We keep the mothers ourselves

Every plant we send is cut from stock we have grown out, watched flower, and chosen to keep. That is the whole reason the genetics hold: you are getting a copy of a plant we already trust, not a gamble on a seed pack.

Thirty-one mothers, one bench, and a log book that goes back to the first cutting.

“A clone is a promise that this plant will do what its mother did. The rest of the promise is yours.”

The practical stuff

What if my plant arrives in bad shape?
Send a photo within 24 hours of delivery and we ship a replacement on the next run, no return needed. Some yellowing and droop after three days in a box is normal and usually recovers in a week, so send the photo either way and we will tell you which one you are looking at.
Can you ship to my state?
Rules on live plants vary by state, and a few restrict them outright. Check the shipping page for the current list before you order, and reach out if your state is not on it — the rules move.
Baby or teen for a first-time grower?
Teens. They are past the stage where a missed watering ends the plant, and the extra cost buys you a much wider margin for error. Move to babies once you have a dome and a routine.
